Below you'll find details on the various AFF Charlotte committees, including a description of each committee and its chair.

ADDY®

Conducts a professional and profitable awards show to recognize creative excellence here in Charlotte. Committee works to increase industry participation and enhance the competition's image and ensure that local winners progress to the Third District and National ADDY® Award competitions.

Club Achievement

The AAF Club Achievement Competition is designed to recognize and honor the hard work of the many volunteers comprising the 200 AAF affiliated local advertising clubs and federations. Clubs participating in the competition enter any combination of eight categories: advertising education, club management, communications, diversity and multicultural initiatives, government relations, membership, programs and public service.

Communications

Responsible for overseeing efforts to communicate the club's activities to our membership and the local advertising community; publishes the club's newsletter and other communications; retains a list of media contacts for press releases (the Knock-List); and secures publicity for the club's activities and programs.

Diversity

Ensures the club supports and recognizes advertising practitioners who are members of cultural minorities in our market. This committee provides articles about diversity for the newsletter, selects the Minority in Advertising Award recipient and coordinates with AAF diversity programs.

Education

Executes programs that educate the public on the role and benefits of advertising in our society; serves as a catalyst to support local students in the club's scholarship efforts and AAF National Student Advertising Competition. Also supports AES (Advertising Education Sponsor) Fund, promoting donations from the club and local levels to build revenues that support NSAC students.

Government

Tracks legislation that could impact our club, members and industry through lobbying in Raleigh. Rallies to educate our community about issues that impact advertising and coordinates efforts to fight negative legislation such as taxation and censorship.

Membership

Chaired by the 2nd Vice President, this committee works to increase the clubs membership and retain current members. Keeps accurate membership records and reports membership changes to club leadership and AAF. Develops benefits and incentives for membership, conducts annual membership drives, develops membership kit and oversees mailings to membership. Nurtures relationships and list exchanges with local political, charitable, and social organizations to develop partnerships to promote the club and increase membership.

Programs

Chaired by the 1st Vice President, this committee plans and executes luncheon meetings and special events with high profile speakers and topics that will address the diverse interests of the clubs members and raise the visibility of the club. Programs should serve to entertain, inform and attract a large cross section of club membership and the community at large.

Sponsorship

Committee responsible for establishing a formal sponsorship program for AAF; defining specific levels of sponsorship associated with the amount of donation provided. The Sponsorship Committee works directly in conjunction with the Membership, Programs and ADDY® Committee. Sponsorship committee members set goals to obtain both annual sponsorship commitments and Special Event sponsorships each year. In turn we promote our sponsors to AAF members through speaking, awareness and presentation opportunities. We offer opportunities for businesses to reach our membership and extended audience by way of paid sponsorship. We have packages available for monthly events, annual program sponsorships, and for the annual ADDY® Award Competition.

Young Affiliates

The Young Affiliates is a newly-formed committee that exists to maximize networking and leadership opportunities for young professionals and students. This committee plans and executes quarterly programs that creatively engage and connect young professionals with senior media and creative leaders in order to further career advancement.
