RICHMOND, V.A. - The Discovery Channel Online Store launched a new B2C website, www.myroboreptile.com promoting an exclusive remote controlled robotic dinosaur called Roboreptile.
Created by Interactive Design firm Myjive Inc. (www.myjive.net), the product website proves to be a big hit for Discovery Channel's online storefront. The new website (My Roboreptile) focuses on Discovery’s new and exclusive product, the chroma-color release of Roboreptile by Wowee. The site features home-grown videos, a Robo Name Generator, and a custom Flash Game where users can be Robo and sling dino-eggs across the jungle. This product has never been cooler.
Myjive received a Gold Award for the Roboreptile website from the Web Marketing Association, a competition that acknowledges the best Websites in 96 industry categories. Nominations come from interactive agencies and web site marketing departments in more than 33 countries from around the world.
The foundation of the Roboreptile web presence is the Flash Game. Myjive called the game “Egg Whack” and the narrative was simple: hit the dinosaur egg as far as you can without cracking it open. The Myjive team of engineers developed a custom game engine that simulated gravity, angle, movement, and velocity of an object as it was propelled in the air. The Myjive creative team topped this off with a 3D animated Robo character and detailed environmental textures. The results was a highly detailed experience that quickly became the forefront of the Roboreptile web presence.
