Beth Whitehead has been with The Charlotte Observer for 14 years and has held various positions within the advertising division including sales and sales management. Most recently, Beth was Special Initiatives Manager with The Charlotte Observer. In this capacity she created and researched new product development and execution for The Observer and charlotte.com. This position was the first of it's kind within the McClatchy newspaper network. As Manager of Interactive sales, Beth oversees the charlotte.com sales team and leads advertising and marketing development for subsidiary websites such as www.momscharlotte.com.

In addition, Beth has a passion for civic engagement and participates on various civic projects including Crossroads Charlotte - a Leadership for the Carolinas initiative. She is member of 3 area Chambers of Commerce and has held various positions with AAF Charlotte including Membership Chair, 2nd Vice President, Silver Medal Award Committee Chair and Hospitality Chair. In 2008-09, Beth will serve as 1st Vice President, Programs Chair and Addy Co-Chair.

Beth's greatest pride is her 6 year old son, Alex. Together they reside in Matthews, NC.
