
Aaron Shurts
Aaron Shurts, a native of Cincinnati, arrived in Charlotte in 2004 by way of Savannah, GA, where he completed his M.F.A. in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
During his 6 years in Savannah, Shurts held design positions of
Art Director, Graphic Designer and Interactive Designer for
area firms and one Fortune 500 Company. His work has been featured in CMYK magazine, Communication Arts Visual and The New York Times.
Upon arrival in Charlotte, Shurts began teaching graphic design
full time at Johnson C. Smith University. He taught there for three
years before moving to the Art Institute of Charlotte.
Shurts is in his third term as Education Director on the executive board of the Charlotte AIGA. He serves on the professional advisory committee for Central Piedmont Community College, and he is an active freelance graphic designer.
Shurts resides in the SouthPark area of Charlotte with
his wife Alison and his cocker spaniel Bella.
