The unmistakable sound of rubber smacking against bare skin and cement echoed throughout Tremont Music Hall on Monday night, and this could only mean one thing: It was time once more for AAF Charlotte’s Halloween Dodgeball Ex-SCARE-aganza!

With 14 teams comprised of Charlotte’s best advertising agencies, design studios and media professionals, this year’s tournament saw the most creative costumes yet, including hot cops, mystical jagons (half jaguars, half dragons), NFL replacement refs and not just one, but two teams inspired by the literary sensation 50 Shades Of Grey. It was an epic---if not totally weird---night.

After 2 intense rounds of play, Tattoo Projects claimed their well-deserved victory as the grand champions! Wray Ward’s beer-drinking, mustache-rocking “dodgetoberfesters” took second place, and the 80s-tastic Ballin’ Oates (a Hall & Oates tribute team) from Adams Outdoor Advertising came in third. Other prizes of the night included:

*Best Team Costumes: Zombies from Vital Media

*Best Individual Costumes: Ben Stagg from Vital Media---his zombie outfit was the bloodiest and most realistic

*Most Team Spirit: Ballin' Oates

*Throws Like A Girl: Fred Sexton from Studiobanks---though Fred left early and his award was stolen by hoodlums from Red F

*Most Aggressive Ball-Slinger: Phil Foster from Tattoo Projects

There were also 4 social media winners who received a special gift for their Twitter trash-talking skills. Check out #AAFDodgeball for the many tweets and twitpics of the night. Official event photos are on Facebook ready to be tagged, and high-res pics can be seen and downloaded on Flickr.

Thanks to everyone who played this year, all the fans and followers of AAF Charlotte, Mitchell Kearney for the photos and the awesome staff at Tremont Music Hall. Next year will the 5th anniversary of our humble agency dodgeball competition, and planning has already begun…so get ready to ball harder than ever.
