Charlotte NC (March 4, 2010) Charlotte Advertising Agencies gathered Thursday March 4, 2010 at the Westin Hotel in downtown Charlotte for the 2010 ADDY Awards & Gala Show. The show attracted 317 entries with 97 awards handed out. Thirty-two agencies were recognized in total. The following awards honored Agencies for exceptional work.

Charlotte’s largest agencies ,Wray Ward and Luquire George Andrews took the lions share of the awards with 13 and 12 ADDY Awards respectively followed by the new upstart Agency Saturday Brand Communications who won 8 ADDY Awards.

The night glittered with the stars of Charlotte’s advertising world. Peggy Brookhouse, President of LGA sat among the 3 tables of LGA co-workers, friends and clients. David Oakley and John Boone of Boone Oakley accepted the Best of Show Award. John Roberts of Wray Ward and Mark Conachan and Theckla Miriam Sterrett of Saturday Brand Communications, Banks Wilson of Studiobanks and Chris Cardelli of Premier, Inc were among the crowd of 240 guests and award winners.

Beth Whitehead, President of AAF-Charlotte said “this has been one of the most exciting ADDY events I can remember mainly because of ADDY Chairman Kara Hollinger of 3pm Creative Group’s fabulous flutter campaign that kept the excitement high in the months leading up to the awards gala.”

The ADDY® Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY® competitions. The mission of the ADDY® competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising.
Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local ADDY® Awards is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie for recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local winners compete against other winners in one of 14 District competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national ADDY® Awards competition.
