Production Associate - SportsBusiness Journal

SportsBusiness Journal seeks a Production Associate to work on creative and production aspects of the weekly magazine, online initiatives and other publications. The position requires working effectively and collaboratively under intense time pressure, in association with editorial, sales and marketing staff. Job reports to Executive Editor.

Specific responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
* Designing magazine pages that offer the best possible presentation for our stories and research.
* Assist in design of web site and various online initiatives.
* Creating charts and graphics that present data in a concise, attractive manner.
* Creating memorable illustrations and photo illustrations to accompany stories and packages.
* Maintaining consistency in the magazine's design elements.
* Translating photos, type and magazine page designs for online pages.
* Processing ad and page files, and communicating with our printer on production issues.
* Assisting in computer system and file maintenance, including archiving and system backup.

Requirements:
* Must be proficient in Mac and PC operating systems, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat Distiller, Dreamweaver, HTML and CSS. Experience with MediaSpan's NewsEdit software is a plus.
* Must have experience in page design (including on the Web), strong design and typography skills and ability to handle tech troubleshooting. Experience in app development is a plus.
* Must be willing to be idea generator and work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Must be organized and able to multitask effectively, including working on multiple short-term and long-term projects in the same time frame.
