The AAF Charlotte Chapter
AAF Charlotte is a consortium of advertising and marketing professionals dedicated to advertising excellence in and around the Charlotte, NC region. We are a non-profit professional trade association serving as an affiliate of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), a national organization empowered by 35,000 professionals in 150+ professional advertising clubs, 140+ college chapters and 60+ corporations. The AAF works to advance the broad interests of the advertising industry, including the freedom to truthfully advertise legal products. We are also a part of AAF District 3, which represents North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Members of our association volunteer their time and skill to plan and execute events that are meant to enrich and grow the advertising community around Charlotte. Our Statement on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
“Diversity is a journey, not a destination.”
The Charlotte chapter of the American Advertising Federation is committed to hearing, supporting and elevating the voices of marginalized groups within our industry. Historically, female-identifying, BIPOC, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodivergent and other groups have been underrepresented in advertising.
As the professionals who help to shape consumers’ understanding of the world through advertising and content creation, we must ensure that what is put out into the world accurately represents the population. We are dedicated to doing our part to ensure this happens by:
Recruitment of Board members of different races, backgrounds and lifestyles.
Curation of events that elevate the voices and experiences of underrepresented groups.
Ensuring accessibility in regards to location and cost.
Constant re-evaluation of processes and practices.
Through this work, we strive to foster and empower the advertising community of Charlotte to grow together toward a more equitable and inclusive future.
